2024 Curbside Schedule – Watrous
The REACT Waste Management District has taken over the garbage and recycling collection in the community of Watrous. This means a change in the way your waste will be handled. You now have access to the REACT recycle system. Here are the options available to residents in the REACT area.
Options for Home Owners
You have three options for disposing of your waste/garbage:
1. You can use the “Guidelines” which are listed below to handle your recyclables and take them to the REACT Recycle Centre closest to you. You can compost organic waste (grass, leaves, vines, etc.) or dig this into your garden or ask your town if some sort of organic waste collection area is available to haul to.
2. Your garbage will be picked up (biweekly) at your residence, in the provided waste cart. The waste cart fee is added to your utility bill ($17.50 per month).
3. You can haul your garbage to a REACT Waste Transfer Station or Landfill. The prices can be found on the REACT website.

The React Garbage Tag
Garbage tags are available at the Town Office, various local retailers, the R.M. Office or the REACT Office for $4.50 each.
The garbage tag is bright yellow and looks like this:

October 1st – March 31st
Tues 12:00 noon-4:00pm; Thurs 12:00 noon–4:00pm; Sat 10am–4:00pm
April 1st – September 30th
Tues 12:00 noon–7:00pm; Thurs 12:00 noon–7:00pm; Sat 9:00am–5:00pm
