The town completed the landscaping and plotting of eighteen new lots on the north side of town in 1998. These lots are completely serviced underground with graded and graveled streets. Since 1998 these lots plus various other Town lots have fulfilled the need for residential land. In 2007, the Town experienced an increase in demand for residential land leading to the sale of the majority of land. The town is now investigating further residential land expansion. A local improvement surfacing program will be initiated in

the near future to complete the services in the new area.
The Town of Watrous has an aggressive Residential Development Incentive Policy in place since 2001. The tax incentive allows individuals that build new homes to experience tax concessions for up to 4 years.
